Cupcake Academy for Young Entrepreneurs

Service Description

This twelve-hour class divided into 3 hour sessions over the span of four days. It was specifically designed for students between 8 and 18 who want to learn to make money selling their baked goods. Having a business is more than just baking cupcakes and asking friends to pay you for them. Entrepreneurs will learn to develop a business plan, conduct market research, identify their target market, learn a pricing strategy, explore customer service, food handling and licensing. They will learn to bake four kinds of gourmet cupcakes (Funfetti with vanilla buttercream and sprinkles, Vanilla with Oreo buttercream, chocolate with peanut butter buttercream, and strawberry with cheesecake frosting). Students will have some delicious homework where they will bake a recipe of each variety they have learned to bake and conduct their own market research. Students will receive all supplies they need to start their own baking enterprise. Cost is $200 per student. Each entrepreneur can bring an invested adult at no additional cost. Students and guests should bring their lunch and an apron. Everything else will be provided.
